The 2nd scene with a "racist guy" wearing a MAGA hat...what a fucking joke. Enjoy your inflation, you voted for it.
Oh, I get it. The movie itself is the zombie. It eats the cast the director the audience. Everything except Swinton & Waits, dude they shoulda hooked up! oh and what happened to the kids. And....Eszter Balint oh no, how can Eszter Balint get zombies! Fan fiction, at the end John Lurie comes out and saves the and Richard Edson coaxes Tom Waits from the forest and everyone Kumbiyas around the campfire.
Proceed to destroy: Ive been a JJ binge the last month after my VCR ate my VHS of Stranger Than Fiction. Jim Jarmusch is Genius Jarmusch, but hey, I know the late 2010 a memo went out to all the directors that said now's the time to drop your career turd. Many did. I still have to work my way through Only Lovers Left Alive and Paterson, but everything from Vacation to Paradise to Down By Law, to Mystery Train to Night on Earth, Dead Man, Ghost Dog, Broken Flowers, Limits of Control all hold their own with Coffee & Cigarettes aging poorly but still a fair watch. An kickass filmography representing a artful career that any modern director would have liked to deliver but caved to the money. The Dead Don't Die is a mystery of a film which does not necessitate rewatching, thought I probably will within a decade. Nearly every actor was under / poorly used, the film offered almost nothing to the Zombie genre and while the film continually points out how the zombies are supposed to represent mindless consumers, the film itself is a zombie feeding on anyone who would go to see this film for any reason other than, hey, "I heard there's a new Zombie film, i dont know any of the actors, but there's nothing else to do in our town of 800 people so let's watch this or go down to the lake and shoot holes in the old watertower." I.e. if you watched this because you wanted to see the new Jarmusch film or because you like any of the actors, you have picked the wrong reason. Im going to assume this was a one-off as I recognize value in Limits of Control (de Bankolé's is the Terminator?) and I need to sit down for Paterson and Only Lovers. Sqürl collaborator Carter Logan in the DVD extras completely baffles me. It's just hard to find the right people to work with and yet the work must go on. Be the ball, be the ball, na na na na na na.....
It be better without the chick from the morgue hate that person
Ghouls
Why am I just now finding out about this movie
What did you expect when Adam Driver himself said "This ain't gonna end well"? LoL!
What a pile of refuse!!! Stay away, dont waste time
this movie was something for selena gomez 🤣🤣🤣
"GOULS" Sold me right there.
Did anyone noticed that this was shot in Riverdale town
5/5 stars.
There are a lot of bad opinions about this movie. I would bet most who dont like it do not understand the subtle comedy and the hilarious placement of things throughout the movie.
The movie reflects the world around us . The zobies were zombies in life. Just going through life and doing what they do. Not one zombie in this movie was 'normal'. Instead of "brains" they say "coffee" or " chardonnay " , they carried cell phones... they didnt act very differently from society today, they even attacked people that were different from them.
Shit gets weird. No one reacts... sounds like real life. We are either frantic or dont know how to react... most of us stand back and take a damned video instead of acting in a manner that may result in lives being saved.
Loved it. It is a subtle , dark slightly goofy comedy.
I don't think I laughed 1 time. Maybe cracked a little smile when Murray told the female deputy to handle crowd control and there was 3 people lol that's the only funny part in the movie
Worst zombie film ever created. the terrible attempt at comedy was the only joke in this movie. Bill Murray was absolutely terrible no one in their right mind would react like that if the dead were walking the earth and the stupid reaction is mostly what ruins it. They're all calm besides the dumbass female deputy she just cannot get the reality that it's dead people walking around and have to be killed or they kill! But they continue to make her stupid the entire movie. I actually fell asleep watching it and I'm a zombie connoisseur I've seen every zombie movie ever made and have thousands of THE WALKING DEAD collectibles. And this was a insult to zombie movies and shows especially ones that were actually funny but this isn't one of them. Far from it👎👎
