❤️GET THE COOKBOOK:🤍 Make the perfect classic pound cake EVERY SINGLE TIME! It's pound cake 101 and I'm going to walk you through every step! HOW TO MAKE THE BEST POUND CAKE RECIPE Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease a 10-cup bundt cake pan with a thin layer of shortening (I use butter-flavored shortening for this. It gives the crust a nice golden crunch and buttery flavor) and then very lightly coat it with flour. Set aside. (If using loaf pans use two 9.5 loaf pans) In a large bowl add sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together well to make sure all of the dry ingredients are combined. Set aside. In another large bowl, cream together butter until fluffy. Add sugar gradually while mixing at low speed until combined and fluffy. Mix for three minutes (set timer) Mix in eggs one or two at a time just until combined. Keep your mixture on low speed. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients while alternating with the whole milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until batter is combined and fluffy. Keep the mixer on low speed. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Mix in the vanilla extract and lemon extract. Spoon batter evenly into prepared bundt pan. Shake and tap the pan on the counter to even out the batter and release any air pockets. Place on the middle rack and bake for 1 hour and 10-20 minutes until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the pound cake comes out clean. Place pan on a cooling rack until it is cool enough to touch but still warm. Carefully remove the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to finish cooling. Slice the cooled cake and serve. *Remember pound cake is one of those desserts that gets better the next day. Pound cake is such a versatile dessert! It makes a great layer in dessert trifles, grilled for summertime strawberry shortcakes, or simply eaten plain or with fresh berries! I prefer it plain Jane or topped with hot, buttery peaches or syrupy strawberries and mounds of homemade whipped cream. In this video, Chef Anna Olson will show you how to bake this amazing but simple Lemon Pound Cake, a classic recipe if there ever was one! Subscribe for more video recipes: 🤍 Ingredients Cake 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, just cooler than room temperature (60-65 F) 1 ½ cup (345 g) sugar 1 Tbsp (4 g) finely grated lemon zest 5 large eggs, almost at room temperature ⅓ cup (80 mL) sour cream (full-fat) 1 ½ tsp (8 mL) vanilla extract 1 cup (150 g) all-purpose ½ cup (65 g) cake and pastry flour ½ tsp (3 g) salt Glaze 3 Tbsp (45 mL) fresh lemon juice 2 Tbsp (30 mL) water ⅓ cup (70 g) sugar Directions Cake 1. Preheat the oven to 325 F and grease a 9-x-5-inch loaf pan. 2. Beat the butter, sugar and lemon zest using electric beaters or a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. In a separate bowl, lightly whisk the eggs with a fork and add this to the batter in a few additions, scraping down the bowl in between. Stir the sour cream and vanilla together and beat this into the batter. 3. In a separate bowl, sift the all-purpose and cake & pastry flours and the salt and add this to the batter, mixing until fully incorporated, scraping to the bottom of the bowl to ensure this. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and tap it a few times to make it level and allow any air bubbles to escape. Bake the cake for 65 to 70 minutes, until a tester inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and prepare the glaze while the cake is still warm. Glaze 1. For the glaze, heat the lemon juice water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Poke holes in the warm pound cake using a bamboo skewer and brush the warm glaze over the cake. Let the cake cool completely in the pan (the glaze will set once the cake is cool) before removing to serve. 2. The cake will keep well wrapped and unrefrigerated for up to 3 days. If you have a thermometer, your butter should start between 60-65°F. if not, you should be able to lightly press the butter and leave a small indent. Not so hard that it makes no impression and not so soft that you can push right through.

Tips: Baking Time and Temperature: - Baking time varies based on the size of your pan. - If you are making simple cupcakes then they should be ready within 15 min. - For small size loaf pan the time should be 40-45 mins. - For larger size loaf pan the time should be 45-55 mins. - Make sure that a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean that is the sign of a fully baked cake. - The temperature will remain the same at 170 C for all types of pan, and the cake needs to be placed in the center rack with only the bottom burner on. My physical cookbook can be purchased here: 🤍 My Electric Salt and pepper grinders can be purchased here: 🤍 3.5 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder 3 cups of sugar 6 large eggs (they should be at room temperature) 1 cup buttermilk (room temperature) 1 cup softened unsalted butter (2 sticks) 8 oz softened cream cheese 1 tbsp vanilla extract (or vanilla bean gel) Peach cobbler filling 15 oz canned peaches (drain the juice) 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 3 tbsp white sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract (or vanilla bean gel) 1 tsp cinnamon powder Pinch of nutmeg 1/2 cup all purpose flour You can add a dash of lemon juice to cut down the sweetness Peach cobbler drizzle 15 oz canned peaches (drain the juice) 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract (or vanilla bean gel) 2 tsp cinnamon powder 1 tbsp butter Pinch of nutmeg Mix butter and cream cheese together until it is smooth. Add sugar and mix until it is light in fluffy in a stand mixer ( you can use a hand mixer if you have one). While that’s mixing (about 5 minutes on medium speed) combine your flour, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl and mix. Now to the butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture add vanilla extract, and add one egg at a time, giving each egg a chance to incorporate completely before adding the other egg. Once all eggs are mixed in, add 1/3 of your flour mixture, wait until it’s incorporated, add half of your buttermilk, wait til it’s incorporated and continue this until all flour and buttermilk is in, but be sure to end with the flour mixture. To a bowl or blender, add canned peaches, sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend until smooth and add flour. Blend until incorporated. In a bundt can of your choosing, spray with a good layer of baker’s joy or cake goop. Pour half the cake batter, flatten and then half of the peach batter. Swirl in and repeat until you reach 2/3 the way up of the bundt pan! Bake in oven on 325 for an hour and 20 minutes . Depending on how big your cake pan is, you might have to adjust the time. At an hour, check on the cake by wiggling the pan a little bit..if the cake is still loose in the middle, let it cook for another 15 minutes and make sure to check it. Cake is done once a toothpick inserted in it comes out clean! Melt butter in pan then add sugars. Cook for 2 minutes then add peaches, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook and mix for 3 to 4 minutes until sauce thickens. Pour on top of cake. The comforting taste of this cake will make you wanting more 🥹❤️ Here’s how you make this utterly delicious pound cake at home ☺️ Ingredients : Flour - 1 Cup/ 160g Baking Powder - 1 Tsp/ 3.5g Salt - 1/4th Tsp / 1.5g Butter - 1/4th Cup/ 60g Sugar - 1/2 Cup/ 130g Vanilla - 1/2 Tbsp Eggs - 2 nos Oil - 2.5 Tbsps/ 37.5g Milk - 1/2 Cup/ 120g Process : * Pre-heat the oven at 175C * To a mixing bowl, add in the softened butter along with castor sugar & vanilla essence - whisk using an electric whisk or hand whisk until the mixture is light & fluffy - add the oil a little bit at a time and continue whisking * Crack in one egg at a time & mix until combined * Sift half of the the flour, baking powder & salt mixture, add in half the milk & gently fold. How to Make a Simple Pound Cake at Home? Try this Easy and Delicious Homemade Pound Cake Recipe Today! Ingredients: 1. Eggs - 3 2. Powdered Sugar - 1 Cup 3. Oil - 1/2 Cup 4. Salt - 2 Pinches 5. Baking Powder - 1 tsp 6. All-purpose Flour - 1 Cup 7. Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp 8. Milk - 1/3 Cup Directions: 1. In a large bowl, add eggs and whisk well. 2. Add powdered sugar and whisk well until light and fluffy. 3. Add oil and whisk well. 4. Add salt, baking powder and gradually all-purpose flour and whisk well. 5. Add vanilla essence and whisk. 6. Finally, add milk and whisk well until combined. (Do not overmix) 7. Grease baking pan with oil and line the bottom with parchment paper. 8. Transfer cake batter to prepared baking pan. 9.
