Learn Electronics Repair #27 - PCIe Slot Replacement I've sometimes seen high value motherboards for sale cheap as 'Spares or Repair' which have burnt out or damaged PCIe slots, and wondered if it was possible to repair this sort of fault and make a profit. So I thought I would have a look to see if it is possible to replace a PCIe x16 slot socket with fairly basic tools and equipment. I googled for info on PCIe slot replacement and looked around on various computer and tech sites where people had asked about this. The general consensus of replies and opinions is that this is impossible. You would be crazy to even attempt it, they say. However I am not convinced that any of the people replying have actually tried to do this, so can they really give any advice? So it got my interest, and as this is something I have not done before, I decided to try on a scrap board first. This video is the result of the experiment. ¿CHAU PCIe 5.0?


Si bien se esperaba que los primeros SSD PCi Express 5.0 llegaran junto a los Ryzen 7000, el tiempo pasó y a un mes de cerrar el año seguimos sin novedades. Según reportan medios orientales, el problema estaría en Phison, más precisamente en la controladora E26 para sacarle el jugo a estas unidades. Phison presentó su controladora 5.0 en Enero, pero recién en Julio pudimos ver la potencia de este estándar. 13 gigas por segundo de transferencia. Una locura. Lamentablemente ni Phison ni ninguna otra marca ha dado declaraciones sobre una fecha estimada de cuando estos SSDs se lanzarán al mercado. Asi que chicos, los que estaban esperando que salgan los 5.0 para que finalmente bajen los 3.0, tendrán que esperar.
