Let me introduce you Olivier salad aka Russian salad! This is literally the one Russian meal that has to be on my New Year table. Something very significant for millions of Russians. But what is Russian salad? This video I'll share a bit of history behind this salad, then shop for salad ingredients, and of course cook it! INGREDIENTS (it's okay to change the proportions if you want): 300g meat, cubed 3-4 potatoes, cooked and cubed 2-3 carrots, cooked and cubed 4-6 eggs, cooked and cubed 2-4 pickles, cubed 1 cup frozen fresh peas / canned peas 1 cup mayo dill to taste salt and pepper, to taste sweet onion, optional 1/2 tsp sugar, optional INSTRUCTIONS: 1. In a large pot, add potatoes and carrots. Cover completely with water. Bring to a boil and cook about 20-25 minutes or until a knife pierces through easily. (Don’t overcook. Remove carrots and potatoes from water, set aside to cool). 2. In a small pot, add eggs, cover eggs will water and bring to a boil cook. Cook eggs 8-10 minutes. Cube all of the ingredients. 3. Combine everything, mix. 4. Season with salt and pepper. Add fresh dill, mix. 5. Add mayo to the salad bowl OR keep the salad in the refrigerator and add mayo right before eating.
