Julia Cameron's Morning Pages *a life-changing habit*


If you're wondering how to improve mental clarity with Morning Pages, then this video shows how this personal development activity from Julia Cameron's book, The Artist's Way, changed my outlook and perspective on a lot of things. I take you behind the scenes and invite you to journal with me, as I explore the morning pages activity of seven days. There is a lot of personal growth in this video and it was a rewarding experience for me. If you're asking what are morning pages? Basically, you dump your mind onto three pages first thing in the morning. There are no rules. You just have to write for three pages. Also, Julia Cameron mentioned that you could even call the exercise, “Mourning Pages” as you give yourself room to dump the negativity that may be curled up in your mind. I’ve tried journaling in the past, but I never had constraints like a page count and set time. So, I planned to wake up earlier, before anyone else was awake at home, and set a challenge of completing morning pages for a week. What I use in my video: Best Music for YouTubers: 🤍 (get 2 extra months) Best Stock Footage for YouTubers using Artgrid: 🤍 Mental clarity, for me at least, is the difference between doing tasks well or making foolish mistakes. When it comes to my work, I’m the best version of myself when I approach each task knowing what objective I’m trying to fulfill. This morning pages activity gave me space and time to arrive with whatever felt both urgent and important. I could catch up when I felt behind and what surprised me the most was where I was able to go, in terms of strategy and ideas, as well as breakthroughs. I appreciated the constraints that Julia Cameron mentions of needing to write in the morning and to write for three pages. It felt, at times, like the first two pages were a brain dump, and the last page was space for breakthrough or planning. I recommend morning pages as a way to organize your thoughts, as well as create space to unpack whatever you may need. If you do decide to try it, I hope that it will be as helpful and surprising to you as it has been for me. I wrote 3 pages every morning for three months straight - without missing a day and these are the 7 ways it directly changed my life. Morning Pages are one of Julia Cameron's most famous creations. In her amazing book The Artist's Way she describes how to go about using the daily writing practice of Morning Pages and daily journaling to unleash your creativity. Weather you call it Morning Pages or daily journaling this morning writing practice has the ability to make a big impact in hour life. There are so many Morning Pages Benefits. Writing every day, in the morning, before my day "officially" starts has radically changed my life.
