So I recently made an edit and in the preview window everything looked fine, but twenty minutes later when I finally export it, there's these stupid black flashes that I did not put in the edit. I trouble shot for hours and what makes it even more annoying is that every time I export to see if I fixed my problem, another 20 minutes has gone by. Well, I made this tutorial so that you don't have to go through the pain I went through. I also added my export settings and a bonus tip that made my export time go from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. It is so frustrating when this when, but don't worry, here's a simple fix. Adobe Media Encoder shares its RAM allocation with After Effects and unfortunately sometimes After Effects takes over the allocation, leaving AME with not enough memory to continue. In this video, I suggest ending After Effects using the Task Manager which then allows AME to grab all the RAM it needs. 5 things you can do so your videos will export. Failed Renders - it's so depressing when that happens. Adobe After Effects and Media Encoder have loads of features that can help diagnose the problem, but knowing what they are can been its own issue. I made this video to help answer the questions: “Why does my video fail to export?", "What steps can I take when a render fails?" and “Why is my render stalled / hanging?” In this video, I'll look at AME’s #error log which tells me the point in the timeline which caused the #render to #fail. Then I run through the standard fixes, like clearing / purging the media cache. This is a video on avoiding the bugs when rendering with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder. Adobe Media encoder has a lot of bugs when trying to render After Effects - specifically After Effects CC2015.3 projects. The most common issue (as of After Effects CC2015.3) is repeating audio in the last few seconds of a clip. Sometimes people can’t even get media encoder to render projects at all. Other times there are visual glitches. I am going to cover a way to render your project and avoid these issues. In summary we are going to render our project within After Effects as an uncompressed file, and then compress the resulting video in Media Encoder. This introduces more steps, but avoids any interop issues between After Effects and Media encoder. Many of this glitches, bugs and issues have been fixed over the past few years, but many more are being introduced. This process can be automated by using Adobe Media Encoder "Watch Folders". This is also my preferred way of rendering as the After Effects render queue has a lot of great features (Scripting, tokens, persistent across projects) and you also keep a video master file (your uncompressed output) for archiving.

Next go to "File", "Export" and then "Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue". From here, Adobe After Effects will establish a dynamic link connect to Adobe Media Encoder. In Media Encoder, right click on the export and select "Export Settings". From here change the video format to "QuickTime". Next make sure the video codec is "Animation" and that the depth is set to "8bpc + Alpha", this will make sure it includes the Alpha channel with the transparency information. Whenever you encode a WebM video with an alpha channel using Adobe Media Encoder, do you get a crappy-looking footage at the end? If so, then you're in the right place. In this short tutorial, I'm going to walk you through fixing the transparent background issue when encoding overlays using the WebM format. - ► SOLUTION: Instead of using Media Encoder to render your overlay, use After Effects, instead. Add your footage to the render queue and under the Out Module dropdown panel, click on Lossless. Under the Video Output section, change the channel to RGB + Alpha and start the rendering process. While that is working, download Shutter Encoder from the link provided and proceed with the installation: Software: 🤍 Open Shutter Encoder and import or drag and drop your massive After Effect footage inside the software. Inside the "Choose Function" dropdown menu, select VP9 and the exit format should now be depicting WebM. Next, to your right, click on "Advance Features" and check the "Enable Alpha Channel" box. Follow up by also checking the "2-pass" and "Max. Quality" check-boxes and then "Start Function". - ► And that, ladies and gentlemen, would be the fix to your problem. You now have a small WebM overlay for your streams that also has a transparent background. If you have a better solution, be sure to drop a comment in the comments section. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to convert an AVI file into MP4. Unfortunately, after effects doesn't have an option to render to MP4 directly. Officially, Adobe recommends using Adobe Media Encoder. Luckily, there is another program which comes absolutely for free that you could use to convert the .avi into .mp4 efficiently. Hence, in this video, I'll demonstrate the workflow from after effects into handbrake and therefore mp4. MP4 files are more portable files that you can use in iPhone, iPad, as well as they take considerable less space on your hard disk as compare to after effects AVI files. To download handbrake for encoding to MP4 for free - 🤍 Some people think why Handbrake is asking to install another program called .NET framework. .Net Framework is not another program, it is just a library of useful tools that other programs could use to work with Windows. Handbrake uses some of the resources from Microsoft Framework which is totally normal for a software.
