This Mamiya M645 review looks at the 645 Super model and the older Mamiya 645 1000S. The later releases have the interchangeable Mamiya 645 film back but the older model still had the interchangeable either Mamiya 645 prism finder or Mamiya 645 waist level finder ("WLF"). In terms of the best Mamiya 645 lenses the Mamiya Sekor 80mm f1.9 lens is the fastest lens and best Mamiya 645 portrait lens (for me). The mamiya 645 80mm kit lens is smaller and sharp and great for a minimal setup. If you compare the Mamiya 645 vs Hasselblad 500cm the Hassy is larger and heavier (marginally). The Mamiya 645 1000s is a medium format film camera that was released in the 1970's. It shoots 120 film and gives you 15 shots per roll, making it the most economical choice for medium format film shooters. With film and cameras costs going up constantly, I think this is a great budget option for anyone looking to get into medium format film. After having the Mamiya 645 1000s for almost a year, here's my review of it along with a journey shooting my final roll on the camera. I've loved the Mamiya 645 1000s SO much, and it was an awesome introduction to medium format, but I'm excited to be moving back to shooting in 6x6 medium format again. Welcome back to my channel! Today i run through one of my favourite film cameras, the Mamiya 645 Pro. It is a medium format camera that shoots 120 or 220 film in a fairly compact arrangement. I run through the features of the camera, an overview on how to load 120 film using Kodak TriX-400, and a bit about how to operate it. The Mamiya 645 (m645 1000S) has been my favourite film/analogue camera since I first got it. I'm sharing my setup for a simple wireless flash on the Mamiya645. This should work for the Mamiya645 super, pro, and pro tl as well as other Mamiya models like the RZ67 and RB67. The cable I used to sync my camera to my wireless flash trigger was only $8 at Precision Camera in Austin Texas. It's a Male PC to Male PC cable. If you have a flash trigger, check to see what type of connections it has available, and keep in mind, you can also use a longer cable to sync the camera to the flash directly without using a trigger. The famous Mamiya 645, specifically in my case this is a 645J! Ashamed to say that this was another absolute classic medium format camera that I have never tried before. I've never been a huge fan of the 6x4.5 format... I sort of think that the big draw of medium format film is the huge step up from 35mm in terms of negative size and therefore resolution. So why then go for the smallest of the medium format frame sizes? But there are definite advantages! And the first one is portability. 645 cameras such as this M645, or the Bronica ETRS cameras, are smaller and lighter than most of the 6x6 or 6x9 cameras. And when you're talking about some pretty chunky cameras, size and weight are things you need to consider. So what did I think of the Mamiya 645J? You know what, I really liked it. Of course the Mamiya lenses are top notch, so what you might lose in negative real-estate, you're winning in class glass! Overall I really like this camera. This one, once I fix it (more on that in the video) will be hitting the Ebay shelf, but only because I have a Bronica ETRS, and I don't need two 645 cameras in my collection. I loaded a 35mm film roll in to a Medium Format [120mm] camera. I got hold of an adapter to fit a 35mm roll in a Mamiya 645 film insert. IMPORTANT NOTE: Loading a Medium Format camera needs a leader. A 35mm roll does not have any leader at all. I broke down my process and observations in the video. The exercise was fun. But I also wasted some unexposed film due to some mechanical limitations on the Mamiya 645. After the 15th shot, the camera can't crank up another shot anymore.
