Best Student Medium Format Camera: Mamiya 645 Review: M645 Super + Mamiya 1000S ✅ Check price on eBay: Mamiya 645 (UK) 🤍 (US) 🤍 ⭐️ Patreon: Join us today for more videos! From £1/mth - 🤍 ▶️ Watch Next: Mamiya RZ67 Pro II - 🤍 📝 Blog post with photos in full res! - 🤍 Perhaps the best medium format film camera for beginners. This Mamiya M645 review looks at the 645 Super model and the older Mamiya 645 1000S. The later releases have the interchangeable Mamiya 645 film back but the older model still had the interchangeable either Mamiya 645 prism finder or Mamiya 645 waist level finder ("WLF"). In terms of the best Mamiya 645 lenses the Mamiya Sekor 80mm f1.9 lens is the fastest lens and best Mamiya 645 portrait lens (for me). The mamiya 645 80mm kit lens is smaller and sharp and great for a minimal setup. If you compare the Mamiya 645 vs Hasselblad 500cm the Hassy is larger and heavier (marginally). For the Mamiya 645 vs Mamiya RZ67 Pro II the RZ is twice as heavy! For Mamiya 645 film loading see the blog post link below. Video includes Mamiya 645 portraits and other sample photos. #sponsored Ever thought about using Medium Format glass for filming? "Interstellar" and "The Dark Knight Rises" do so on IMAX cameras. Mamiya 645 lenses are surprisingly affordable and future proof in a market trending toward larger sensors... and they look absolutely gorgeous. A real alternative for modern Mirrorless Full Frame hybrids, for Large Format cine cams like the Arri Alexa 65 and Alexa LF, the RED Monstro, Sony Venice and the MAVO LF... but also for any other sensor size including Micro Four Thirds. We are having an extensive look on the primes of Mamiya 645 Sekor C range using the Panasonic GH5 and EVA1, as well as the 35mm Full Frame sensor MAVO LF introducing a Kipon Focal Reducer that enables us to use the whole image of Medium Format lenses... giving you crazy shallow Depth Of Field and mind boggling amounts of light. We are testing: Sharpness, field of view, focus breathing, Bokeh, flaring, close focus, throughout the range on different sensor sizes with and without Speed Boosters. We also give practical tips including cine-modding, service and repairs. Perhaps the most user-friendly, beginner medium format camera to exist, the mamiya 645 proves why it continues to be a powerhouse in the modern era of cameras. Despite its size and age, this camera has continued to bridge the gap between large, clunky 6x7 cameras and 35mm. As my first medium format camera, I talk about its pros, cons, and everything in between. Enjoy! :) Keaton: 🤍 #filmphotography #mamiya #mediumformat

The Mamiya 645 1000s is a medium format film camera that was released in the 1970's. It shoots 120 film and gives you 15 shots per roll, making it the most economical choice for medium format film shooters. With film and cameras costs going up constantly, I think this is a great budget option for anyone looking to get into medium format film. The first half of the video explains what this camera is all about and some of the pros & cons. The second half is a user's guide on how to use the camera and all of its features/functions. If you have any questions or comments please let me know down below, any feedback is appreciated. I know the audio sucks but it will be getting better in future videos! When looking to get into medium format film photography, the Pentax 645N and Mamiya 645 Pro both make great options if you want a camera with auto-advance capability and other advanced features. I compare these two great cameras and break down how they differ, feature by feature. I also give a comparison of both cameras to the manual-advance Bronica ETRS, and why one of these three options might suit you better than the other- based on operation, features, and price. ►Buy Me a Coffee- 🤍 ►Merch Shop - 🤍 ►My Zine - 🤍 ►Follow Pushing Film on Socials 🤍pushingfilm ►Join the Pushing Film Discord Server - 🤍 ►Reshoot Australia - 🤍 ►Get 10% off on all Pixpa plans for your Website using our link- 🤍 ►All music via Artlist.io Get 2 extra months free when you join Artlist using our referral link! 🤍 Video Chapter Markers: 00:00 - Intro 00:51 - Video structure & Target audience 02:56 - Scoring - Viewfinders 03:41 - Ergonomics 05:15 - Noise 06:13 - Weight 06:43 - Speed 07:29 - Metering 09:56 - Modularity 11:18 - Lenses 12:18 - Flash sync 12:28 - Total scores (preliminary) 12:52 - Prices & film economy 14:15 - Total scores (considering Prices) 14:39 - Which one should you get? 16:33 - Which one would I buy? 17:29 - The Bronica ETRS 19:56 - Bronica Price & Score compared 20:18 - Bronica vs Pentax vs Mamiya 21:20 - Closing thoughts & Reshoot Australia 22:09 - Mamiya photo samples 22:46 - Conclusion & outro #Pentax645N #Mamiya645Pro #BronicaETRS

I'm sharing my setup for a simple wireless flash on the Mamiya645. This should work for the Mamiya645 super, pro, and pro tl as well as other Mamiya models like the RZ67 and RB67. The cable I used to sync my camera to my wireless flash trigger was only $8 at Precision Camera in Austin Texas. It's a Male PC to Male PC cable. If you have a flash trigger, check to see what type of connections it has available, and keep in mind, you can also use a longer cable to sync the camera to the flash directly without using a trigger. The famous Mamiya 645, specifically in my case this is a 645J! Ashamed to say that this was another absolute classic medium format camera that I have never tried before. I've never been a huge fan of the 6x4.5 format... I sort of think that the big draw of medium format film is the huge step up from 35mm in terms of negative size and therefore resolution. So why then go for the smallest of the medium format frame sizes? But there are definite advantages! And the first one is portability. 645 cameras such as this M645, or the Bronica ETRS cameras, are smaller and lighter than most of the 6x6 or 6x9 cameras. And when you're talking about some pretty chunky cameras, size and weight are things you need to consider. So what did I think of the Mamiya 645J? You know what, I really liked it. Of course the Mamiya lenses are top notch, so what you might lose in negative real-estate, you're winning in class glass! Overall I really like this camera. This one, once I fix it (more on that in the video) will be hitting the Ebay shelf, but only because I have a Bronica ETRS, and I don't need two 645 cameras in my collection. Have you tried a Mamiya 645? What did you think of it? let me know!

I loaded a 35mm film roll in to a Medium Format [120mm] camera. I got hold of an adapter to fit a 35mm roll in a Mamiya 645 film insert. IMPORTANT NOTE: Loading a Medium Format camera needs a leader. A 35mm roll does not have any leader at all. I broke down my process and observations in the video. The exercise was fun. But I also wasted some unexposed film due to some mechanical limitations on the Mamiya 645. After the 15th shot, the camera can't crank up another shot anymore. So I probably wasted around 5 shots in a roll. Music from Thematic: Gil Wanders - just memories - 🤍 Clueless Kit - cold - 🤍 WABI SABI - snowflake - 🤍
