They spend between $10K and $15K on birthday and Christmas presents for the children each year. On a weekly basis, they spend between $250 to $500 every time they buy groceries. They usually buy four to five gallons of milk at a time. “It doesn’t take much for us to fill up the fridge", Desiree says. They’ve received plenty of judgement for having so many children. People complain about them bringing more people into the world but Desiree says: “We’re raising people who are going to put into society and put into the world and be more of an asset than a liability." As is often the case with siblings their children often get on each other's nerves but there’s never a dull moment. Today they're giving us a house tour and an insight into their lives. Are you looking for a hearty beef stroganoff that cooks up fast? Well, we have an easy recipe that will feed a crowd! Our version of beef stroganoff is simplified by using ground beef. We like LOTS more!) 4 Tbsp. (1/4 cup) butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1-1/3 cups beef/chicken stock or bone broth 1/2 cup red wine vinegar 1 tsp. yellow or Dijon mustard 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce up to 2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (we only use a pinch) 1/3 cup sour cream 3 oz. cream cheese salt and pepper to taste In large skillet, brown ground beef, onion, and garlic. When beef is close to being done, add in mushrooms and continue to cook until beef is cooked through and all vegetables are softened. Remove beef/veggie mixture to another container and set aside while you work on the sauce. In the same large skillet, melt butter on low heat and then add flour. Use a spatula to mix together into a paste. Stir until blended well. Whisk in broth until everything is smooth and simmering gently. Whisk in red wine vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes. Once the mixture is thickened and comes to a simmer again, add in the beef/veggie mixture. Stir together and add salt/pepper to taste. Add sour cream and cream cheese to skillet and mix everything up together until fully incorporated. Once everything is warmed through, serve on top of cooked egg noodles and enjoy!

Cooking Massive Freezer Meals to Feed My Large Family - Over 175 Servings! That's right, today we are Cooking Massive Freezer Meals to Feed My Large Family, cooking and prepping over 175 servings! We make several 9x13 freezer meal dinners. We meal prep 16 personal pan sourdough pizzas for the freezer. We make 10 loaves of sourdough bread, and get a few of those loaves in the freezer. We also freezer meal prep egg roll in a bowl to help fill my freezer. In addition to all of this massive freezer meals cooking, we do 6 big batch pans of peach crips. We use two for the weekend and get 4 9x13's in the freezer. We also make a homemade gallon of greek yogurt using A2/A2 grassfed milk. In this British TV documentary, we follow all of the UK's largest families and investigate the highs and lows of living in a busy household. Watch Episode 3 HERE: Episode 3: 🤍 In this episode we are introduced to a family that are unique in that even though there are 13 children, all but one of them are female. In this house full of lip gloss, high heels and hair extensions, being the prettiest and best dressed is a never ending competition. Especially since a number of the older girls have competed in (and won) prestigious beauty pageants. There is also the issue of whether the only son is favoured (a belief held by all the girls!) and rivalry for very basic things that most people take for granted - bathroom time! It’s a good thing that mum has time and endless love to pour on them all and dad somehow manages to handle all the finances, car rides and demonstrates zen-like patience waiting for the daily make-up routines - well most of the time! Our second family family have 10 children between the ages of a few months and their early teens. With all of the children so close in age, there are no older children to help relieve the strain and act as referees. We find out how they deal with everything from squabbles to all-out war and learn what tactics they have for making sure all of their children feel valued, special and like they are getting their fair share of attention as well as negotiating access to expensive and popular toys that have to be shared among all of the kids. Even though they’re not all their own children, these incredible parents treat them all the same and do the best they can to make them feel loved like real parents. In this British TV documentary, we follow some of the UK's largest families and ask the big questions about how these supersize households manage. In this episode The Hamlins, are determined not to take government handouts. Dad works, mum stays at home and does the odd job and they budget fiercely to stay afloat. In their opinion, it was their choice to have 12 children so it is their responsibility to look after them. And while they do collect child support and working family tax credits, neither of them has ever claimed income support, disability benefit or housing benefit. They are determined to set a good example for their children and that means paying for everything themselves. To save money, they live relatively frugally, cook all of their food from scratch, buy in bulk and don’t spend on anything that isn’t a necessity. If this means that the kids don’t get pocket money, have to make do with hand me downs and have never been abroad then so what? They all have enough to eat and are cared for as well as any other children. They hate the fact that the media are determined to portray large families as sponging whiners who have had numerous children precisely so that they don’t have to work and are determined to never fall into that trap. But do the children feel the same? And is it fair to deprive them of the Xboxes, trainers, pocket money and trips to the cinema that they see all of their friends enjoying? Or at the end of the day is a loving family all that really matters? Next we will meet a family who hold a very different set of beliefs, The Watsons. They are a single parent family of 15, living in council accommodation and survive solely on benefits. The mum believes that she is performing an important role in raising the next generation and doesn’t think that she conforms to the typical portrayal of a large family - yes they live in a council house and she doesn’t work but the government handouts aren’t squandered on flat screen TVs and vodka, it all goes on the kids. She maintains that even if she worked, she would be worse off as paying for childcare would cost more than she could earn. In her opinion why go to work to pay for someone to look after her kids when she can just cut out the middle man and do it herself. She is currently petitioning the council for a bigger house as they are all living on top of each other. But if they are given one she expects a backlash from the local press and community, something that she is desperate to protect her kids from. Finally we meet the Hanns. A family of 14 that live in Dundee and keep a close family spirit through their practice of Mormonism. To Mum Emma, having a child taken away from her at 18 when she was too young to have a real voice in the matter, has made her grateful to have as many children as she can. Money isn’t easy for them with dad working long shifts and mums whole day being spent washing the kids clothes, but they more than make up for it with love. They also have a few tricks of the trade to get them by, who needs 14 pork chops when you can just buy the whole pig!
