But that’s not all though… They’ve loaded it up with both a skip & a grab lorry! Combined, this 3-in-1 behemoth weighs a colossal 44 tonnes! Lining up beside them we have Daniel from Ashville Aggregates in a Liebher 566 loading shovel. It weighs a lot less than the Scania, at 24 tonnes, but its 10.5-litre engine only delivers 280hp. We've got a Scania Grab Lorry going up against a Volvo Concrete Pump & Scania Skip lorries to find out which is the ultimate small truck! So how do they compare? Well Mat's in the Grab Lorry, which comes packing a total of 9-litres and the ability to produce 280hp. As you can imagine though, it's pretty heavy, weighing in at 18-tonnes! We've then got Yianni in the Skip Lorry, which just like the Grab Lorry comes packing 9 litres, although it's slightly down on power, with 250hp. And then finally we have Daniel, who's rolled up in a Volvo Pump Lorry. It may only be packing 5-litres, but it weighs in a whole 5 tonnes LESS than the trucks either side! Thanks to Clive Sutton, Monster Energy and Luke Woodham: 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 We do love pickups here, and it’s time for two on either end of the scale to battle it out! In this drag race, we got the Shelby F-150 Super Snake to go up against a Monster Pro Lite – a lightweight racing truck! Let’s take a look at the stats for both – first off, the Shelby F-150 Super Snake. Based on a Ford F-150, it has a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that develops 770hp and 868Nm of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels by a 10-speed automatic transmission, but it does weigh a hefty 2,198kg. This model is from 2021 and costs £105,000. At the other end of the scale, the Monster Pro Lite trophy truck weighs just 1,400kg – less than a Porsche 911 – and costs around £30,000. It packs quite a punch though, with the small block V8 from Ford putting out 450hp and is paired to a 3-speed semi-automatic transmission sending the power to the rear wheels. While the Super Snake has all the power figures in its favour, the Monster Pro Lite is stripped out and could spring a surprise on the monstrous F-150. The gorgeous truck races on the Misano circuit by the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, the only Italian stage, are becoming, in my opinion, an unmissable appointment. I needed only a few minutes to remember how wonderful this event is, an unconventional kind of motorsport where passion and big truck fighting wheel to wheel! Finally, this 2017 edition gave us pleasant weather and the Saturday races were really lovely! Enjoy this highlight video and see you next year! Get ready for what is easily one of our strangest drag races to date! We've got our hands on a group of three-wheelers and we're going to put them through their paces over the quarter-mile! Now when it comes to performance, there's only one thing we know for sure... None of them are fast! The most powerful car we have here is the Reliant Regal, which has an 848cc engine which produces around 37hp. Alongside that we have the smallest car in the world, the Peel P50, followed by a Tuk Tuk, an Isetta, and a Piaggio Ape! Onaway Speedway - Onaway, MI May 18, 2019 - May 19, 2019 Great Lakes Big Rig Challenge Event (2nd Edition) The Great Lakes Big Rig Challenge (2nd Edition) loaded drag racing compilation! This Quebec style uphill side by side Semi Truck drag racing competition can only be found at one location in the United States... Onaway Speedway! This sport is most popular in Canada. Onaway Speedway has a dedicated uphill track specifically designed for this style of drag racing. Drivers and teams came from all around, some over 1000 miles from the US and Canada just to race here. These clips show some of the awesome loaded drag racing action on track from the May 18-19 weekend. Competitors hooked up to trailers loaded down with 123,000lbs of lumber, and raced uphill. Mat has returned to the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin Texas, and he’s got his hands on the all-new Cybertruck! So of course, you know what that means… It’s drag race time! Naturally, there was only one competitor that we had to compare this all-electric pick-up to - the Hummer EV! The question is, which will come out on top? Well, let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Cybertruck, it rolls up equipped with three electric motors, and they combine to produce 845hp and 930Nm of torque. The starting price of the dual-motor edition is around $49,000, but for this tri-motor Cyberbeast edition, it’ll cost you around $96,000! In terms of weight, the Cybertruck tips the scales at just over 3 tonnes. Think that’s heavy? Well, that’s nothing compared to the Hummer, which comes in at 4,110kg!! Just like the Tesla, the Hummer is equipped with three motors, but it’s also up on power, producing 1,014hp and 1,485Nm! The price is also slightly higher than the Cybertruck, coming in at around £109,000. So how will this one play out? Will the extra tonne of weight prove decisive? Please read below so that you can enjoy and appreciate the video more: Shockwave Jet Truck 2015 NAS Oceana Airshow Naval Air Station Oceana Virginia Beach, Virginia Saturday September 19, 2015 Chris Darnell is at the controls of the Shockwave Jet Truck as he takes the stage at Naval Air Station Oceana for a dry run on Oceana's Runway 23L. Shockwave is a crowd favorite of the NAS Oceana Airshow and performed this dry run just prior to the Fleet taking the stage. Chris would later challenge Gary Ward with his absolutely beautiful MX2 to a race. For those wondering what a dry run is, understand that there are a few acts the Shockwave Jet Truck performs at airshows across North America, and this also applies for every jet powered vehicle that appears on the airshow circuit. A dry run, like this video shows, is simply the driver of the jet vehicle showcasing the vehicle to the crowd without any other acts in the air or in the aerobatic box. The vehicle and only the vehicle has the stage and the runway to do whatever show it wants (usually showcasing a lot of fire and smoke), and the dry run part is an actual firing of the engines to achieve maximum speed (or close to it) down the runway without any aircraft in the air. This kind of act is as popular during the day as it is during a night show. Jet vehicle owners will also challenge a pilot (or two) to a drag race down the runway either while the pilot is already in the air for his/her act or will take to the air just to race the jet vehicle. Spectators are led to believe this is done on a whim, but it should be emphasized that this is a choreographed race that is well planned out and briefed prior the start, usually at the morning performers' safety briefing. The driver of the jet vehicle will brief with the pilot(s) to ensure the pilot(s) fly a safe distance away from the vehicle and at a speed at such to make the illusion the jet vehicle will win the race. Remember, this is scripted and not done off-script for the sake of safety. This kind of act is as popular during the day as it is during a night show. Here is a good example of a race: 🤍 Finally, jet vehicle owners will sometimes take some sort of role in a larger and more choreographed and scripted act featuring one or more aircraft in an amazing smoke and fire display. Examples in the past include the X-Team and the Masters of Disaster, to name a few.
