On this episode of Crazy Will Tech Show, I show you how to fix the 2011 15'' Macbook Pro GPU problem. So I had the problem 5 years ago, the graphics card died. The AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics comes unsoldered and can't really be fixed. Trust me I have tried, even the backed apple approach which involves you putting it in an oven which reflows the solder. I even tried a heat gun...and that killed it lol. So after apple fixed it I just kept up with the heat using smc fan control and it worked for those 5 years. I knew the problem would come back to haunt me, and last Wednesday it did. I was working on thumbnail for youtube and bam the MacBook Pro 2011 GPU Glitch was back with a vengeance. This time it was rebooting my Mac book pro over and over agin. So after lottttt of research I found out that this particular 2011 MacBook Pro has two graphics cards and you can run off of the Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory. Now this is not the best of solutions but beats the hell out of taking apart your Mac and possibly damaging. This worked for me and now I can get back to using my 2011 15'' MacBook Pro with a little bit of a handicap. This video also shows you how to get around the booting problem that I was up against. With a properly compressed video you’ll be able to upload or download it faster, and in some cases, playback will be smoother if the original video was too large a file size. This is all without noticeably impacting the quality of the video at all. Compressing reduces the file size of a video so it takes up less space on your hard drive. For example, 100MB video can be compressed into an 8MB video with no visible difference. And we’ll show you how to do it. We will compress the video using Handbrake program. Handbrake is one of the easiest and best programs out there for video compression. It’s also free and open-source. ➡️ Download Handbrake. ➡️ Mostly default settings. Most default settings will match video input and need no changing. ➡️ Constant framerate same as source, video quality at 23, compression speed at slower. Constant framerate is reliable on playback. Video quality will get worse the higher the number. 23 will make no noticeable quality dip but will drastically reduce file size. Slower compression speed will get slightly better results in final file size. ➡️ Browse and name output file. ➡️ Double-check settings, make sure Audio is there. ➡️ Start Encode. Encoding will create a new video from the input file with the new settings we set for it. ➡️ Show the difference in file size between old video and newly compressed one. In this video we increase a Virtualbox virtual machines vram from 128MB to 256MB using vboxmanage. Once you have changed the vram setting using vboxmanage modifyvm you will notice that the slider within the GUI settings for your VM now allows you to increase the vram up to 256MB. After increasing the vram of our virtual machine we start it and check to see if the virtual machine can actually see the extra vram.
