Tony! “Protect the endangered animals!” Choopy-choopy-choopy-choo The earth is in pain! Choopy-choopy-choopy-choo Let’s protect the earth! Black fur patches around my eyes My friends leave me as the day goes by. A bamboo forest where we used to play I’m left alone. I miss the old days. Cool stripes made me fearless and brave. But when my friends were gone, I couldn’t save. A wide field we used to gallop away I’m left alone. I miss the old days. The earth we live in is for all. For humans and for animals We coexist in this beautiful space. Let’s share this place. Protect the earth everyday. Keep it green from today. Help the endangered animals to stay. Peaceful way Glossy skin and powerful tail All my friends unwillingly bail. Deep in the ocean, we used to swim away. I’m left alone. I miss the old days. White fur and giant feet With my friends, we felt complete. Here we used to catch lots of prey. I’m left alone. I miss the old days. The earth we live in is for all. For humans and for animals We coexist in this beautiful space. Let’s share this place. Protect the earth everyday. Keep it green from today. Help the endangered animals to stay. Peaceful way “Remember that we are all in this together. Tigers are being hunted by the poachers, and vaquita porpoises are being trapped in abandoned fishing nets. And the number of polar bears is also gradually decreasing due to global warming. Extinct and Endangered Animals for Kids | What we can do to protect endangered species

What is the difference between "extinct" and "endangered"? Animals and other living things that no longer exist are extinct, and those that are in danger of becoming extinct are endangered. In this video, you and your kids will learn about some of the things that cause living organisms to die out. You will also learn how to help protect endangered species! You probably already know about dinosaurs and that there are no more on the earth today. That is because they are extinct. They're not the only ones, though. Animals like woolly mammoths and dodo birds used to exist. However, due to certain natural causes and to human interaction, they no longer do. There are several reasons a species might die out. For the dinosaurs, scientists believe an asteroid collided with earth and caused a mass extinction. On the other hand, woolly mammoths lost their habitats, and the climate changed drastically enough that they couldn't adapt to their new surroundings. Similarly, the dodo bird became extinct because of overhunting and the destruction of its habitat. Not all animals that go extinct existed thousands or millions of years ago. The passenger pigeon died out much more recently, and for the same reasons as the dodo. What about endangered animals? For the most part, human causes are the reason most animals and other species are in danger of dying out. Animals you may be familiar with that are on the endangered species list include black rhinos, orangutans, Bengal tigers, blue whales, and sea lions. The video explains several causes, many of which are the same as those you already learned about. While you can't do anything about extinct species, there are a few ways to help protect endangered animals and plants. You can recycle, save energy, and plant a garden. These will all help improve the environment. In addition, you can even sponsor an endangered animal! We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about animals that are extinct or endangered! Endangered Species Act

What do elkhorn corals, leatherback sea turtles, and Hawaiian monk seals have in common? They are all protected under the US Endangered Species Act. The Endangered Species Act of 1973 is one of the most effective conservation laws in the United States. Using science-based management plans, it has prevented the extinction of 99% of the species it protects. So how does it work? The US Congress put the US Fish and Wildlife Service in charge of land and freshwater species and NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service in charge of marine species. These agencies can review the status of a species on their own or concerned citizens or groups can petition the agencies to list a species. After a thorough review process a species can be classified as either endangered or threatened if necessary. Endangered means the species is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant part of its range. Threatened means the species is likely to become endangered in the foreseeable future. If a species is listed as endangered, it is illegal for anyone to kill, harass, harm, or capture it without special permission. Threatened species may be given many of the same protections. Once a species is listed, the agency in charge can designate the species federally protected habitat. They'll also develop a recovery plan to guide government and private efforts to help the species and get it out of danger. Today, the Endangered Species Act protects over 2,140 listed species. The US Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA continue to develop new technologies and management approaches to ensure the ESA remains effective and that endangered species populations can rebound and their habitats can recover. A healthy ocean needs strong and sustainable populations of all marine species. And the Endangered Species Act has gone a long way to keeping it so. Original video source: 🤍

Is the gray wolf actually endangered?

When are we done protecting the gray wolf? Become a Video Lab member! 🤍 When European settlers first came to America they were set on “civilizing” the land. This meant a lot of rash, sweeping changes — one of which was to eradicate a familiar target: the gray wolf. Bounties were placed on the animal across the US. By the 1930s, the once plentiful wolf population was decimated. Decades later, restorations efforts have led to an extensive recovery of the animal. Endangered languages still have much to say | Mady Kung | TEDxLFHS

Many languages are currently listed as endangered. Student Mady Kung discusses why this matters, and what the world is really at risk of losing. Mady is a junior at Lake Forest High School. She enjoys school a lot, but in her free time, she also loves creative writing, public speaking, running, and meditating. Mady has always been fascinated with how language - which is something that we constantly hear and absorb as soon as we come into this world - allows us to both share and understand complex ideas. Because of this, the language(s) that we speak will inherently shape the way that we perceive things because it is the way in which we make sense of the world around us. Scientists estimate that we are in the middle of the 6th mass extinction event right now, where species are dying out at 1,000 to 10,000 times baseline extinction rates. Why should we care if a species goes extinct? Moral and ethical arguments to try to prevent species extinction include reasons like all life has a right to be here, or that we owe it to our grandchildren to protect species so they can see them in the wild. Species also impact the ecosystems they are a part of; plants and animals depend on each other in an ecosystem for things like food and shelter, so if one species dies out, then that could affect other species in an ecosystem. For example sea otters live in kelp forests and eat sea urchins, and when they were hunted almost to extinction the sea urchin population increased and ate all the kelp destroying the kelp forest habitat. What are ecosystem services? Ecosystem services are the collective benefits we get from ecosystems. Ecosystems provide us with a lot of great things like natural resources and water, and are home to living things we depend on like insects that pollinate our crops and decomposers that get rid of our waste. Ecosystems are healthiest when they are the most biodiverse. Preserving endangered languages: Barry Mosses at TEDxCCS

Barry Moses, an Adult Basic Ed Instructor at SCC, is racing against the clock to preserve his Spokane tribe's Salish language. A poet, performer, photographer and amateur historian, Barry recently found Chief Garry's original name, Slough-Keetcha, and is intent on capturing the previous generations' knowledge before the keepers of his people's stories die off. In his blog 🤍, Barry documents his efforts to keep his connection to the past alive. The recipient of the Deccio Excellence in Equity Award, Barry co-facilitates the CCS Intercultural Leadership Program. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Endangered Species: Animals in Danger of Extinction | LEARNING WITH SARAH | EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS

Discover hundreds of never-before-seen resources! Create your free account at 🤍 and start learning in the most entertaining way. What are you waiting for? It's crazy to think that some animals might not exist in a couple of year's time... that's why we need to put a stop to it! 😿🐻🐅🐘 🤯Imagine telling your future children, that Polar bears are like dinosaurs, they no longer exist 💭What are you going to do to make a difference? 👇 Let us know in the comments below 👉SUBSCRIBE TO HAPPY LEARNING! 🤍 👉Web site: 🤍 👉Follow us on Facebook: 🤍 Recommended video: DINOSAURS: The mysterious extinction 🤍 - Hello Happy Friends? Are you ready to learn? I’m Sarah, and today, we’re going to talk about animals, but specifically, those that are in danger of being extinct, those that are about to vanish forever! Look, this is… my… He’s very lucky, because he lives in my house, and we take very good care of him. But there are a lot of animals, that aren’t this lucky. Can you imagine all dogs on Earth disappear? Well there are some animals that are about to disappear completely, like the tigers, lynxes, whales, polar bears, tortoises, even bees are close to being extinct! Actually, in some places they have already disappeared, and that makes me sad, very sad… But… What can we do to help the animals? The first thing is learning lots of things about them! : Where they live… what they eat… and how they are affected by what humans do. The more we know about animals, the more we will love them, because they are so great! They are so beautiful! Also! Some of them are so cool and fun! We also need to walk in the woods, so we can get to know nature, enjoy it and take care of it like nature deserves. If we threw this small plastic bag into the ocean, it could mean the death of some sea creature, like a dolphin or a sea turtle. Look at these images. This seal has eaten plastic thinking it was food. Sadly the poor thing will probably die. Do you realise how important it is to respect and take care of nature? Another way of taking care of nature and saving animals, is consuming in an ecological manner. Switching off lights when we don’t need them, closing taps, turning the tv off when we aren’t watching. If we do all these things, nature will be a looot cleaner, and animals will live longer, and better lives! And they will never ever ever become extinct. We all fit in this world, the Earth is our home, and home to all living things! Will you help us take care of it? I hope you do! Goodbye Happy friends! I hope you’re always ready to learn! Goodbye!

Conservation of Endangered Species | Jeremy Dentien | TEDxClemsonU

Dr. Jeremy Dentien shares his journey and experience with conservation ecology, how his work on the Tigers United University Consortium is helping to increase tiger populations for the first time in over 100 years. Dr. Jeremy Dertien grew up in Austin, Texas fascinated with watching and then with conserving wildlife. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Colorado State University where, as an undergraduate, he was awarded the Udall Scholarship and as a graduate student used camera traps to research Alaskan alpine mammals. He later worked for the Wildlife Conservation Society on projects in Colorado and California studying how human recreation can impact wildlife populations. Recently, he earned his Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology at Clemson researching the spatial distribution of biodiversity and conservation planning in the Congaree Biosphere Region of South Carolina. As a conservation ecologist, Dr. Dertien is primarily concerned with how his research can be used to advance the conservation of imperiled species and habitats around the world. Currently, he is working with the Tigers United University Consortium to study ways of reducing human-tiger conflict in central India. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at 🤍
