A virtual ride from Utrecht to Amsterdam on the national highway A2 (Utrecht) to the A1 (Amsterdam) and exiting the highway near the city of Naarden. Click here ▶ to see highlights and guide. (From Wiki): The A2 highway is a highway in the Netherlands. It is one of the busiest in the Netherlands. The road connects the city of Amsterdam, near the Amstel interchange with the Belgian border, near Maastricht (NL) and Liège (B), and the Belgian A25 road. The route of the A2 motorway is shared with two major European routes. Between its start, at Amstel Interchange, near Amsterdam, and the Interchange Oudenrijn, near Utrecht, European route E35 follows the A2 motorway. From the Oudenrijn Interchange towards the Belgian border just south of Maastricht, European route E25 follows the route of the A2. Local and express lanes on A2 have different speed limits. The speed limit on express lanes is 120 km/h (75 mph) and locals is 100 km/h (63 mph). HOW TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE (DRIVING TUTORIAL) Today's video is about learning how to merge properly onto a highway, freeway or interstate. This maneuver can be tricky for new inexperience drivers. It requires a little bit of practice to master this technique. Entering & Leaving Limited Access/Interstate Highways All limited-access highway entrances have three basic parts: an entrance ramp, an acceleration lane, and a merging area. When entering an interstate highway: 1. On the entrance ramp, begin checking for an opening in traffic. Signal your intent to merge onto the expressway. 2. Increase your speed as the ramp straightens into the acceleration lane. Adjust your speed so that you can safely merge into the traffic when you reach the end of the acceleration lane. 3. Merge into traffic when you can do so safely. You must yield the right of way to traffic on the highway. Do not stop in the acceleration lane unless traffic is too heavy and there is no space for you to enter safely. Left and Middle lane hogs have made American highways unnecessarily congested, slower, and dangerous. Most Americans do not even know they are driving in the wrong lane and I hope we can clear that up with proper lane etiquette. Full Playlist: 🤍 - - Watch more How to Drive videos: 🤍 So, today we're going to talk about highway driving and try to give you some highway driving tips. We'll start with what is usually the most difficult part for a beginner, and that would be actually getting on the highway. The reason that's more difficult is because the cars that are already on the highway are going at a greater speed than you are merging in. This is where the use of the lane to merge becomes most important. You have to use that lane to build up your speed and try to get your speed up so that then it would be easier to blend in with the cars that are already on the highway. So, you don't want to come to the end of that merge lane and then stop. At that point it will be very difficult to get on. You have to use the merging lane to accelerate, build up your speed, and keep checking your mirror on the left and turning your head to make sure you've got a good safe distance to merge onto. Then, when that occurs you move onto the highway. Once you get on the highway my recommendation is that the best lane to usually drive in would be the middle lane. The left lane is generally used for passing. The problem with staying in the right lane is that you've got to deal with those cars getting on the highway at every single exit. So, my recommendation is stay in the middle lane. The speed is greater on the highway which means that things can happen much more quickly, so that space is so important in highway driving. You need to have space in front of the car and behind the car, to the left and right at all times. If you're going to make a lane change you're going to do so by putting your signal on and indicating the way you want to make that pass whether it be to the right or to the left. Then you're going to look and make sure it's real safe to do so. Then move your car from one lane to the other. When is a good time to get back into the lane that we came from? The answer to that is that we need to see the vehicle that we passed in our rear view mirror. When you can see that entire vehicle in the rear view mirror it is then okay to move back to that right lane. So, those are some tips that you can use if you want to have some safe, comfortable highway driving.
In this video, I show you how to drive on the highway with a 20 minute driving lesson. Driving on the highway can be a daunting task at first, because of the faster-than-normal speeds, but the truth of the matter is that it is easier and safer than driving on a main road! In this driving lesson, I go over merging onto the highway, changing lanes, the proper following distance, driving in highway traffic, and even exiting off from the highway! I also demonstrate myself doing all of these things multiple times! For any info: My website: 🤍conduitefacile.com Gmail: conduitefacilevideos🤍gmail.com Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 1. Entry speed : Probably the most common mistake made by novice drivers when entering a highway; adapting to the speed of traffic. And in most cases, that means going too slow when the traffic is at full speed. So how fast do we enter? It depends on the speed of traffic. During rush hour, it can almost come to a complete stop, and at normal hours, usually traffic is at full speed. So how do we adapt our speed? Simple, it’s a visual thing. We look at the speed of the vehicles on the highway, but we must not do it at the last moment just before entering. We look from far, then we look again just before merging. Even on elevated highways such as this one, where the concrete wall is blocking our view, we can get an idea of the speed by looking at the trucks. From far, like this, then from a bit closer just before merging. Then, when possible, we change lanes to the left, because most of the time the merging lane will end. In most cases, this is indicated by arrows like this one, and a panel indicating the end of the right lane. 2. Don’t live on the edges : If you’re driving on a highway where there’s three or more lanes, you shouldn’t stay in the far right or far left lane. If possible, change to one of the middle lanes. If there are just two lanes, you should drive on the right. On the highway, the left lane is reserved for overtaking and for the rare times when there is an exit on the left. It’s also the fast lane. So even if we’re not supposed to stay on it, some people do, to drive at higher speeds. And since the right lane is the entry lane, we want to free it up it as much as possible to make it easier for those who are entering. Which brings us to the next tip. 3. Solid lines : At highway entrances, there’s almost always a full line on the side of the vehicles that are already on the highway, which means that vehicles on the right lane, meaning those who enter, may change lane to the left, but the vehicles in the left lane can’t change lanes right, so that they don’t block the ones who are entering. At exits, there are also solid lines to prevent people from changing lanes at the last second, which could be dangerous. So, pay attention to lines when nearing entries and exits. 4. Signs : The red and blue icon indicates the highway number, 520 in this case, and the orange shape indicates the number and direction of the exit. To the right, we have the distance from here to the exit. The arrows below the panel indicate the lanes in which we have to be in order to follow in the direction of those places. A yellow bar that covers the bottom of the panel indicates that the lane pointed to by the arrow is reserved for exiting the highway. So in this case, if we don’t want to exit, we have to change lanes. When approaching a tunnel, you will almost always see this panel, or this panel in the United States, which means it is forbidden to enter the tunnel when transporting hazardous materials. Another reason not to follow trucks too close; we won’t be able to see the panels. 5. Exits : Another thing you should be careful of when exiting a highway; speed. And mainly for two reasons; a. One : Often, highway exits are very sharp turns, and because novice drivers tend to look in front when turning and not at the turn itself, there is the risk of going too wide. So make sure you don’t look in front when turning, but at the turn itself. b. And two : In almost all cases when exiting a highway, the speed decreases, sometimes significantly. And when you’ve been driving at 60 miles an hour for a certain amount of time, it becomes difficult to adjust to a lower speed. For that reason, highway exits and service roads are often used for the enforcement of speed limits. These signs indicate the maximum speed limit in the zone you’re approaching. (From Wiki): Bundesautobahn 3 (Federal Motorway 3) is an autobahn in Germany that links the German border with the Netherlands near Wesel in the northwest to then go to the A2/A516 in Oberhausen an ultimately to the south at the Austrian border near Passau, where it continues in Austria as the A8. Major cities along its total length of 778 km (483 mi) include Oberhausen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Leverkusen, Cologne, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Würzburg, Nuremberg and Regensburg. At a total of just over 655.8 miles (1,055.4 km), it is the longest state route in California. SR 1 has several portions designated as either Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), Cabrillo Highway, Shoreline Highway, or Coast Highway. Its southern terminus is at Interstate 5 (I-5) near Dana Point in Orange County and its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 101 (US 101) near Leggett in Mendocino County. SR 1 also at times runs concurrently with US 101, most notably through a 54-mile (87 km) stretch in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, and across the Golden Gate Bridge. The highway is designated as an All-American Road. In addition to providing a scenic route to numerous attractions along the coast, the route also serves as a major thoroughfare in the Greater Los Angeles Area, the San Francisco Bay Area, and several other coastal urban areas. SR 1 was built piecemeal in various stages, with the first section opening in the Big Sur region in the 1930s. However, portions of the route had several names and numbers over the years as more segments opened. It was not until the 1964 state highway renumbering that the entire route was officially designated as SR 1. Although SR 1 is a popular route for its scenic beauty, frequent landslides and erosion along the coast have caused several segments to be either closed for lengthy periods for repairs, or re-routed inland. Orange County At its southernmost end in Orange County, SR 1 terminates at I-5 in Capistrano Beach in Dana Point. It then travels west into the city center. After leaving Dana Point, SR 1 continues northwest along the coast through Laguna Beach (where it meets the southern terminus of SR 133) and Crystal Cove State Park. SR 1 then enters Newport Beach, where it is known as simply Coast Highway. It passes through several affluent neighborhoods, including Newport Coast and Corona Del Mar, spans the entrance to the Upper Newport Bay, which marks the boundary between East Coast Highway and West Coast Highway, and crosses California State Route 55 near its southern terminus. Upon entering Huntington Beach, SR 1 regains the Pacific Coast Highway designation. It passes Huntington State Beach and the southern terminus of California State Route 39 before reaching Bolsa Chica State Beach and the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. PCH then continues along the coast into Seal Beach, the final city on its journey in Orange County. 🤍

Motorways are statistically the safest roads in the UK, and are designed to help traffic travel faster to their destination. However, the fast-moving flow of traffic and multiple lanes can take a little time to get used to for a new driver. The high speeds used on a motorway will mean that the driver must be alert, and the car must be in good condition - as if there is an incident, it will often be serious and involve many vehicles. This video will show how we should drive on a motorway, so that we can travel quickly and safely to our destination.
