Dragon Chicken | Indo Chinese Starter Recipe | Restaurant Style Dragon Chicken | Dragon Chicken Recipe | Chicken Starter Recipe Ingredients for Dragon Chicken: - Boneless chicken strips- 250 gms Marinate chicken with: - Salt- 1/2 tsp - White pepper powder- 1/2 tsp For the batter: - All purpose flour/ maida- 3 tbsp - Cornflour- 2 tsp - Baking powder-1/2 tsp - Salt- 1/4 tsp - White pepper powder- 1 tsp - Egg- 1 - Chilled water- 4 tbsp - Garlic chopped- 8 cloves - Dried red chillies, halved- 4(8 halves) - Red onion, thick sliced- 1 small (60 gms) - Cashew nuts halved and fried- 20(40 halves) - Green pepper/capsicum julienned- 1 small (60 gms) - Red pepper julienned- 1 small(60 gms) - Red Chilli sauce- 2 tbsp - Soy sauce- 2 tsp - Tomato sauce- 2 tbsp - Salt- a pinch (1/8 tsp) - Sugar- 1 tsp For garnish: - Spring onion greens chopped- 1 tbsp - White sesame seeds- 1/2 tsp - Water- 2 tbsp - Oil- 2 tbsp + oil for deep frying Preparation: - Cut the boneless chicken into 2 inch strips. - Add salt & white pepper powder and mix well. Set aside for 10 mins. - Now prepare the batter as per items listed above. Mix well. Pour it on the marinated chicken strips. Mix well and set aside for 15 mins. - Heat oil in a wok or kadai and fry the strips till golden. Should take around 4-5 mins on medium to high heat. Do not crowd the wok/kadai, fry in batches. Process: - Take a wok or kadai and heat oil. - Add the chopped garlic & dried red chillies. Give a stir. - Now add the red onion slices and fry on medium heat for 2 mins till soft. - Add the 3 sauces, a pinch of salt & 1 tsp of sugar. Mix well and then add the fried cashew halves. Mix well and stir fry for 30 secs. Dragon Chicken can be easily made at home too. Dragon Chicken makes for an excellent party starter too! So go out and try this recipe of Dragon Chicken! My vegetarian friends can substitute the chicken with paneer and tofu for the same delicious experience! Thank you for watching! 💫 And don’t forget to subscribe here: 🤍 Recipe : Dragon Chicken Preparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 15 -20 minutes Ingredients: 250g Chicken Breast ½ Red bell pepper, juliennes ½ Green capsicum, juliennes 4 tbsp Cornflour 1 large Onion, sliced 2 tbsp chopped garlic 1 tbsp chopped ginger 1 tsp Red chili paste 1 tbsp Sesame seeds ¼ cup Tomato ketchup 1 tsp Soya Sauce 1 tbsp Vinegar Salt to taste 1 tsp pepper powder Method: Cut chicken breast into ½ “ thick and 2” long fingers. Sprinkle salt all over it. Roll in dry flour and set aside. Dissolve 1 tbsp cornflour in ½ cup water . In another plate, mix flour, cornflour, salt, red chili powder and pepper powder. Dip the chicken pieces in corn slurry and then in the seasoned flour. Roll in the flour and set aside. Heat 2” oil in a pan. Fry the coated chicken in medium hot oil till golden and remove. Mix together the tomato ketchup, chili paste, vinegar, soya sauce in a bowl. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the chopped ginger and garlic and allow to turn golden. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Toss well. Add the chicken fingers, prepared sauces, salt, pepper to taste and toss well to coat the paneer pieces with the sauces. DRAGON CHICKEN Ingredients 250 grams boneless chicken legs, cut in ½ inch pieces 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste Salt to taste Crushed black peppercorn to taste ½ teaspoon red chilli powder 1 tablespoon cornflour 1 tablespoon refined flour (maida) 1 tablespoon oil + for deep-frying 1 teaspoon chopped ginger 1 tablespoon chopped garlic 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup Salt to taste 1 teaspoon red chilli powder ¼ cup chicken stock 8-10 cashewnuts, halved and fried 1 small red capsicum, cut in triangles 1 small yellow capsicum, cut in triangles 1 tablespoon chopped spring onion green + for garnishing 1 teaspoon vinegar Method 1. Put chicken pieces in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, salt, crushed peppercorns, chilli powder, cornflour and refined flour. Mix well and set aside for 15-20 minutes. 2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry chicken pieces till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies, mix and sauté for a minute. 4. Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, salt and chilli powder and mix well. Add stock and stir. 5. Add cashewnuts, red capsicum, yellow capsicum, crushed peppercorns and spring onion greens and mix well. 6. Add fried chicken and mix well. Add vinegar, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. 7. Set aside for 10 mins. - Now prepare the batter as per the items listed above. Mix well. Pour it on the marinated chicken strips. Mix well and set aside for 15 mins. - Heat oil in a wok or Kadai and fry the strips till golden. Should take around 4-5 mins on medium to high heat. Do not crowd the wok/kadhai, fry in batches. Process: - Take a wok or kadhai and heat oil. - Add the chopped garlic & dried red chillies. Give a stir. - Now add the red onion slices and fry on medium heat for 2 mins till soft. - Add the 3 sauces, a pinch of salt & 1 tsp of sugar. Mix well and then add the fried cashew halves. Mix well and stir fry for 30 secs.
