Ford B-MAX MPV 2014 review: 🤍 Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: 🤍 Subscribe to Auto Express: 🤍 "The Ford B-MAX is a brilliantly usable, great-to-drive small people carrier." If you need a bit more space than a small hatchback but don't want to have to contend with the driveabilty of a full blown MPV then you may wish to consider a Ford B Max. It's as easy to drive as a Ford Fiesta but is much more spacious and hugely practical. We shall start with these doors because there is no pillar here and these sliding open means it is easy to clamber in. In fact Ford claim this layout offers double the opening space than that of rival car Vauxhall Meriva. Once inside there is room for tall people, I don't fall in that category at 5foot4and a half but I assure this high roof line is very accommodating. You may be worrying about what a lack of a door pillar does to the car's safety. Well you don't need to. Ford has fitted extra strengthening to the B Max's frame to ensure the B-Max offers the same protection in a side impact as its other cars. Next there is the boot, it's a decent size and has a secret floor. And the attention to space and design continues all the way to the driver as well. The controls are easy to get to, tons of storage and plenty of adjustment in the seat - including reach and rake on the steering wheel. I promised you it was easy to drive well it is, the suspension is set up so it feels comfortable on the road with no alarming roll in the corners or spine shudders over the lumps and bumps. It is however taller than a Fiesta so it will lean a bit in the corners but this isn't a negative, it's to be expected. Ford are proud of its latest in safety technology, an option you can go for with the B Max is Auto City Stop which stops you from bumping in to the car in front. They are also proud of their low litre ecoboost engines, which combine better efficiency with a decent amount of power. The 1.6 diesel however returns over 70mpg which is great if you will be spending most of the time on the motorway. If however you need an automatic you will have to go for the less frugal 1.6 petrol. This is where the negatives starts, although I cannot complain about the fact that even the entry level model comes with DAB digital radio, the buttons are fussy and there's too many! In fact the whole interior is not up to the same standard as VW. However it's cheap to buy and run, and all cars come with RAC cover, although hopefully you will not need that as Ford has scored highly in our sister titles Auto Express Driver Power customer satisfaction survey. But its best party trick is the Easy Access System you get with these doors.

Chez Ford, on aime les monospaces : la gamme en compte 5, pas moins, dont le B-Max est le plus petit, concurrent du C3 Picasso ou du Nissan Note par exemple. Le B-Max propose 2 diesel ou 3 essence, parmi lesquels le petit 3 cylindres 1 litre EcoBoost ici dans une définition de 120 chevaux. Il s'agit de la plus puissante motorisation de la gamme, uniquement disponible en boîte mécanique à 5 rapports. Particularités du B-Max : ses portes arrière coulissantes, comme sur le Grand C-Max, mais surtout l'absence de montant central entre les portes avant et arrière, facilitant l'accès à bord. A bord justement, on retrouve à l'avant une planche de bord très proche de celle des Fiesta, Focus ou C-Max. La qualité est correcte et l'ergonomie perfectible, sans parler de l'écran central trop petit. L'équipement peut recevoir en option le freinage automatique en ville, un must en termes de sécurité. A l'arrière, l'accès à bord est donc facilité par l'absence de montant central. Une fois installés, les passagers sont correctement installés s'ils sont deux. Mais la largeur de la banquette interdit de s'installer à trois. Le coffre atteint 304 dm3, bien loin des 400 dm3 d'un C3 Picasso. Ce petit bloc turbocompressé est une des plus belles réussites de ce qu'on appelle le downsizing. La sonorité 3 cylindres, si elle se reconnaît en prêtant l'oreille, reste discrète. Le 1 litre se montre souple à bas régime et monte facilement dans les tours. Même sur autoroute à haute vitesse, il relance facilement. Côté châssis, cette version chaussée de roues de 16 pouces s'est montrée un peu moins confortable que les modèles en 15 pouces. En contrepartie, elle aurait plutôt un comportement agréable, avec un arrière légèrement mobile, si l'on ne fait pas attention aux petites prises de roulis. L'intérêt du B-Max vient de sa particularité architecturale et de sa facilité d'accès à bord. Mais les cotes d'habitabilité sont assez décevantes pour la catégorie, que ce soit pour les passagers ou les bagages. En revanche, notre voiture d'essai séduit par son agrément de conduite côté châssis, un point commun à beaucoup de Ford actuelles, rehaussé ici par un moteur agréable. Le tout en restant relativement sobre puisque Ford annonce 4.9 l en moyenne de sans plomb. Sur ce point, le C3 Picasso est largement distancé puisque Citroën annonce à puissance équivalente 1.5 l aux 100 en plus.

Hiro Hamada is a 14-year-old high school graduate and robotics genius living in the futuristic city of San Fransokyo (a portmanteau of San Francisco and Tokyo) who spends much of his free time participating in illegal robot fights. To redirect Hiro, his older brother Tadashi takes him to the research lab at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, where Hiro meets Tadashi's friends, Go Go, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, and Fred. Hiro also meets Professor Robert Callaghan, the head of the university's robotics program. Amazed, Hiro decides to apply to the university. To enroll, he signs up for the school's science fair and presents his project: microbots, swarms of tiny robots that can link together in any arrangement imaginable using a neurocranial transmitter. At the fair, Hiro declines an offer from Alistair Krei, CEO of Krei Tech, to market the microbots, and Callaghan accepts him into the school. At the end of the day, a fire breaks out among the exhibits and Tadashi rushes in to save Callaghan, the only person left inside. The building explodes moments later, killing them...
