Alaska is massive, with the state being so large that it could stretch all the way out from California to the East Coast of the United States. The state of Alaska isn't just known for its gigantic size, limited population, and deep wilderness though... No, it's an economic powerhouse, a natural paradise, and one of the most biodiverse places on planet Earth. In today's video, I look at the livability and safety of Alaska's five most important cities (cities like the infamous Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau). Explaining the reality of Alaskan life, and answering that important question of if you should (or perhaps shouldn't) consider moving (or even traveling) to Alaska. Anchorage is the northernmost city in the U.S. with a population of over 100,000. Alaska can receive up to 22 hours of daylight during the summer. We visited Anchorage in mid August. This was our first time visiting the "Last Frontier" and was full of adventure. We explored places in town, as well as a few hour drives. The highlights include hiking in Denali State Park, a glacier boat tour from Seward, Alaska into Kenai Fjords National Park, salmon fishing on the Kenai River, and riding jet skis to stunning glaciers of Blackstone Bay in the Whittier, Alaska wilderness. 00:00 Traveling to Anchorage, Alaska 03:15 Anchorage Museum 04:48 Anchorage Breweries and Places to Eat 06:40 Lake Hood Seaplane Base 07:20 Alaska Railroad Train 07:49 Crow Creek Mine 09:35 Talkeetna, Alaska 12:09 Denali State Park and Curry Ridge Trail 13:24 Curry Ridge Trail 16:22 Salmon Fishing on the Kenai River with King of the River Guides 19:22 Kenai Fjords glacier boat tour 20:16 Glacier JetSki Adventures #anchorage #alaska #anchoragealaska #travelguide Welcome! Don’t move to Anchorage, Alaska. Seriously. Let us tell you why.. In this series we tell you the WORST places to live in the United States. Our TOP 10 Lists tell you where NOT to move and why we think you should avoid it. Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, is in the south-central part of the state on the Cook Inlet. It's known for its cultural sites, including the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which displays traditional crafts, stages dances, and presents replicas of dwellings from the area’s indigenous groups. The city is also a gateway to nearby wilderness areas and mountains including the Chugach, Kenai and Talkeetna. ― Google #ANCHORAGE #ALASKA #TOP10 I don’t know if you need to hear this, but: These lists are not intended to be used for making life changing decisions. Local Alaskan musician Nick Carpenter of Medium Build takes the team around his favorite spots to eat and drink in Anchorage, Alaska. He starts the night at Anchorage Brewing Company, where Nick can occasionally be seen pouring drinks for other patrons. He and his partner grab some beer on tap and order meatball subs from Familia restaurant inside. From there, Nick heads to Wild Scoops to meet up with his nephew, mother, and brother and try specialty ice cream flavors such as rhubarb crumble, buttermilk blueberry, and matcha latte—and try to get to the bottom of where the Carpenter family’s obsession with the creamy treat began! Once Nick and his nephew celebrate their sugar rush, Nick heads around the corner and meets his father for cocktails, wine, apps, AND dinner at the allegedly haunted Club Paris. We still think they should have ordered two of the steak fillets, though! After that, Nick takes us to the Carousel Lounge to get the true Alaskan dive bar experience. Nick links up with his friends, keeps on drinkin’, and does some karaoke before they walk over to a friend’s house for a fish fry with live music and more beverages. Start taking notes, everyone, because if you ever make it to The Last Frontier, you’ll have perfect intel for a great night out! 00:00 Familia inside Anchorage Brewing Company 3:05 Wild Scoops 6:03 Club Paris 10:00 Carousel Lounge 11:40 Late-night fish fry Subscribe to MUNCHIES here: 🤍 All MUNCHIES videos release a full week early on our site: 🤍 Hungry? Hello from Alaska! This quick video shares a great day trip ideas to do in alaska outside of anchorage! It's a non-exhaustive list because it's rather a good short video about some ideas of things to do. First let's start with the biggest must-see if you go to alaska which it whitter! Accessible only by sea or through an amazing two mile tunnel, this is a one of a kind city. And most of it's residents live in one single apartment building that includes a grocery story, hospital, and post office! Beautiful views of the port absolutely filled with boats. Great shops and amazing mountain views! Second, if you do go to whittier stop by byron glacier only 7 miles away. It's a flat hike but it's a little ways back to see the glacier. It feels like an authentic wilderness hike because the greenery around you is tall, thick, and who really knows if you pass a bear or moose in there. not trying to scare you but speaking of scary, let's look at mudflats! at beluga point! If you come at certain times you can even see the bore tide in the turnagain arm! Turnagain Arm has the second largest tidal swing in North America. It can see tides as large as 40 feet. The Turnagain Arm Bore Tide is one of the largest in the world and can climb to 6-10 feet and travels 10-15 miles per hour. do not walk on the mudflats. they are extremely dangerous because you can get stuck in the silt and drown. look, don't walk. I'll put a link in the description to see the bore tide schedule 🤍 Ok ok, Moving to the north side of Anchorage is eagle river! The river is very alaskan and is an amazing color! Great pit stop on the way to the actual eagle river nature center. one way in and one way out to this nature center with great hikes and views. Just be careful for bear season because some trails may be closed! North again is Mirror Lake! There's also Edmund Lake if you go the other way. We went to mirror lake and the clouds were amazing and it was a nice stop to maybe have a picnic here or skip a rock. Next is a bonus is if you keep going north you'll pass the Knik Arm and it's just a beautiful drive! Palmer, Alaska is an interesting place to visit and id recommend the Palmer visitor center with a beautiful garden, interesting museum style history pieces inside and there's complimentary tea! hey, you stayed until the end of the video so I'll share with you one of our accidental finds that was well worth a stop! it was back on the way to whitter when we saw a big tour bus stopped at a random spot. we stopped and got to see salmon in a beautiful small river and a bridge. it was a nice peaceful pitstop. Thanks for watching and i hope you enjoyed watching this Alaskan video and gives some ideas of what else to do that's not in anchorage alaska! 😄 Hello! Anchorage ted stevens is one of the busiest cargo airports in the world. Yeah! This is the end of me. I knew only enough, to be worshiping gods, that we're nothing in real. Yeah! That's a testimony, for a young lonely boy, that man'd up goin' for it. But why am I feeling, the time is isn't healing? Why does my heart feel so wrong? Now it feels like it never ends. No! Never ends. Nothing lasts forever anymore. Wo-o-oh, wo-o-oh! Karma has no fucking deadline. Did I ask you for mercy, when I fell on the floor? Did I beg for a ligh,t when I was dragged to the shore? Did I ask for forgiveness, you would never forgive this. Why the hell did you speak like it was something I missed? Yeah! Killing feelings never really saved no one! You'd better fucking run, before I shoot you down. Killing feelings never really saved no one! I always knew there is no cure. We're prone to this allure. We just wanna feel something real. Yet we're running from ourselves. Take back all you want from me. I've given all I can, you know, I never gave a damn about this.

24 hours in ANCHORAGE, ALASKA | What to do, see, and eat! For the next 24 hours I'll be in Anchorage, Alaska finding all the best food, and explore what there is to do in Alaska's largest city! DON'T CLICK THIS: 🤍 🔔 Help our channel grow🔔: 🤍 I have a long layover in Anchorage before my flight home, so I decided to take a little bit of a detour and extend my stay for a few days exploring downtown Anchorage. Obviously, there's a lot more to Alaska than just Anchorage, but seeing as I only have a limited amount of time, and no car, this is as good as it gets for my first experience in the state. And despite having the worst timing (I missed the Iditarod and Fur Rondy by a few days), I feel like I was able to see quite a bit of the city as winter draws to a close. 🍲 WHERE I ATE 🍱 Moose Tooth Pizza: Everyone I talked to raved about Moose Tooth Pizza. The pizza here did not disappoint, and the combinations and pie options were almost a bit overwhelming to choose from! moosestooth.net Snow City Cafe Snow City is a local favorite known for creative decor, great coffee, and famous benedicts. I decided to get the Alaskan king crab eggs benedict. Well worth it! snowcitycafe.com International House of Hotdogs (IHOH): Food carts are apparently some of the best places to get food in Anchorage, especially in the summertime and during the Fur Rondy. Unfortunately, my time didn't line up with either so most of the carts weren't out. I did however find IHOH for my first experience with reindeer sausage! 🤍internationalhouseofhotdogs.com 49th State Brewing: Craft brewing as well as great food, 49th State Brewing Company is the only place in the city that serves Yak meat!
