Whenever you decide to travel to Alanya in 2022 or beyond, you can use this video as a way to guide you during your trip to the turquoise coast. We show some of the best things to do in Alanya. I have been living in Alanya for the past year and it is famous for its stunning beaches, Taurus mountains, and ancient history. Cleopatra beach in Alanya is one of the most famous beaches n Turkey as Queen Cleopatra once swam here. Take the cable cars up to Alanya Castle which was once the summer residence of Seljuk Sultan Aladdin Keykubad. The Red Tower was also built during the reign of Sultan Aladdin and it is now a national symbol of Alanya. The Alanya shipyard is also nearby and you can buy a combined ticket with the Red Fort Tower. The Alanya Pirate boat tours are popular with tourists and you can visit many caves and beaches during this tour. You can also see the famous Alanya lighthouse from the seas. Some popular day trips from Alanya include Manavgat waterfall, Side (where you can try out dune buggies and white water rafting), Koprulu Canyon, and Sapadere Kanyon. You can find many amazing restaurants cooking up some of the freshest and best produce that grows here in Alanya. One unique restaurant we recommend visiting is called Göl Piknik in the Dimçayi area. This is a fabulous mountainside restaurant with delicious dishes. We chose the sac kavurma, cheesy mushrooms, chips, eggplant, and yogurt salads. In the summer months, you can enjoy your meal outside in canopy’s surrounded by the water and play in the water park. After visiting this restaurant, you can visit the nearby Dimçayi caves, and lakes and enjoy the scenic views. Alanya, formerly Alaiye, is a beach resort city and a district of Antalya Province on the southern coast of Turkey, in the country's Mediterranean Region, 133 kilometres (83 mi) east of the city of Antalya. As of Turkey's 2010 census, the city had a population of 98,627, while the district that includes the city and its built-up region had an area of 1,598.51 km2 and 248,286 inhabitants. Because of its natural strategic position on a small peninsula into the Mediterranean Sea below the Taurus Mountains, Alanya has been a local stronghold for many Mediterranean-based empires, including the Ptolemaic, Seleucid, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. Alanya's greatest political importance came in the Middle Ages, with the Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm under the rule of Alaeddin Kayqubad I, from whom the city derives its name. Dzisiaj Alanya znana jest przede wszystkim jako popularny kurort, który przyciąga turystów z całego świata swoim pięknym wybrzeżem, piaszczystymi plażami i malowniczymi górami. Mieszka tu wielu zamożnych Rosjan i Ukraińców i spotkać można bogatych piłkarzy angielskich. Ale Alanya to nie tylko ładne miasto na wakacje. To także ciekawe miejsce pod względem historycznym. Historia miasta była związana z różnymi cywilizacjami i imperiami. Od starożytności, miasto znajdowało się pod kontrolą Greków, Persów, Rzymian, potem było pod kontrolą Bizancjum, następnie pod rządami tureckich rodów Seldżuków, potem Alanya była atakowana przez łacinników z wypraw krzyżowych i w końcu w XV wieku stała się częścią Imperium Osmańskiego. Ślady obecności tych kultur można jeszcze zobaczyć w niektórych miejscach w mieście. Zobaczcie też osobne odcinki: o zamku w Alanyi i jej zabytkach z XIII wieku oraz krótki odcinek o cenach w tureckich sklepach. Zapraszam.
