Knife Making - forging my first feather explosion damascus with Thiers steel [EN] In this video I finally test my press and make my first feather explosion damascus. When you are self-taught in damascus you say to yourself I understood how he did it but putting it into practice is not so easy! Forging a damascus feather blade is not easy I spent hours watching videos on this subject and once I understood the steps I started, but between theory and practice there is a world! I managed the steps pretty well until I split my damascus ingot in half to give the feather design because the tool I made for myself to split the ingots was too thin and it melted as I went. In addition, my tool was stuck in the ingot, I sweated to get it out and had to cut it again each time. I'm going to have to make myself a stronger tool! but hey, I'm happy with the result because this feather damask is unique. see you soon BOULDERDASHFORGE Share the video with your friends who might be interested. ▬▬▬ TO GO FURTHER ▬▬▬ 💡 Subscribe to BOULDERDASHFORGE to follow my various craft achievements: 🤍 💡 Find me on my website: 🤍 💡Discover my playlist: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬ SOUND ▬▬▬▬ Musique : Metal par Alexander Nakarada (🤍serpentsoundstudios.com) Sous licence Creative Commons BY Attribution 4.0 License 🤍 par/4.0/ ▬▬▬ ABOUT THIS VIDEO ▬▬▬ I regularly post cutlery, metalwork, blacksmithing and furniture videos 😊 so don't miss anything subscribe! #BOULDERDASHFORGE #knife #craftsman #forge #knife making #blacksmith

This knife was designed by 🤍knives_and_design 🤍 This video completely records the making process of Grateful full tang knife. I named this knife Concept Knife, like a concept car. I was fascinated when I first saw the blueprints. To add to the challenge, I made it from old 16mm thick steel. As you can see, he is a whole. No welding, no pins. The knife weighs 364.8 grams. Knife Making - The Simple Bushcraft Knife! I started with a piece of 1080 steel and some hickory for the scales and ended up with a great little bushcraft knife. This is knife making at its simplest. No music just knife making. This is pretty much all the steps involved in making this knife. I did leave out the multiple normalization cycles. I just showed one. The knife was also temperer at 400 degrees for two 2 hour cycles. The edge is a 220 grit edge and stropped. Its Scary sharp! Natural wood is tough to work with for scales. It contaminates easily with the sandpaper grit and also the metal shavings from hand sanding. Its very tough to keep clean. Theres a reason you don't see many light wooded natural scales (such as maple). Some forward thinking is required in order to finish it right. Hope you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching!
