The Platform Editor Sean Plunket says the odds are “heavily in favour” of a change of government for New Zealand with the country’s election night to be held on October 14. Prime Minister Chris Hipkins is going to the polls for the first time as leader having replaced Jacinda Ardern earlier this year. Mr Plunket told Sky News Australia there have already been analytical pieces written over the past weekend on "what went wrong for Labour". “And we have the government or Labour polling in the low or mid-20s, the National Party in the mid to high 30s and their support party ACT, 10 to 15 per cent.” “So the numbers we see which have not moved in the past week suggest that Labour, Chris Hipkins, is gone.”
During his regular afternoon press conference, newly elected New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins was asked by a reporter to 'define a woman' on behalf of his government.
