After 8 years dreaming about it and 3 years of hard work to make it happen. I'm glad to announce I completed, last June 2022 in Austria, the world fastest stand-up slide at 117.355 km/h (73.34mph) with a top speed before the slide at around 135 km/h (84mph). A dream that came true ! More than a world record, the goal is to produce a short film to show it at big Outdoor Film Festival. Here is a short clip previewing what we filmed during the week of shooting in Austria last June. We have tons of crazy footages, proud of what we filmed with the boys. The script of the film is almost finished, we will start soon the post-production. Hoping to release you the teaser in the following weeks. We still need your help to finance the post-production (editing, color grading, sound design, voice over & original soundtrack). This snowboarder failed epically while attempting a trick. The plan was to ride down a hill and slide across a pond. Unfortunately, they accidentally lost balance within seconds of entering the pond and fell into the water. The Rollerman suit is Jean-Yves’s own invention, he was a student at an industrial design school in Paris in 1994, and for his final graduation project, he created the Rollerman suit. He wanted to create something that didn’t yet exist, perhaps even something that filled gaps in gliding postures in sports, with a goal to enable the human body to move freely in all possible positions. Combining these impulses with his love for skating, he created a suit of full-body armor, equipped with 32 wheels placed on the hands, feet, knees, torso, arms, and back. It takes about 2 months to mould a complete suit, and the suits sell for $4500 euro or about $5000 US Dollars. Now even though Jean-Yves is known as the Rollerman, and the suit would be best known as a rollersuit, wheel suit or rollerblade suit, but the activity of using the suit, is referred to as Buggy Rollin, which is a term coined by Jean-Yves himself, but it’s also known as body blading, roller suiting, and wheel suiting.
